The Child Health Promotion Research Centre (CHPRC) was established at Edith Cowan University in 2004. The CHPRC comprises a multi-disciplinary research team with a focus on high quality, applied research to improve the overall physical, emotional, and mental health and well-being of children, young people and their families. The CHPRC is recognised for its school and community based applied research in the areas of:
- Mental health promotion (including bullying and aggression prevention);
- Nutrition and healthy weight promotion;
- Drug use harm reduction; and
- Injury prevention.
The research team has active links to the teaching program at ECU and engage with Government and Industry partners and the community in disseminating research findings.
